 Thirty one students from SAD #39 recently competed in Maine's National History day event at the University of Maine Augusta. Students ranged from grades 6 to 11. Eight students projects were choosen to move on to National Competition in Maryland in June- Calvin Downey & Jared Eastman, Brianna Lueck & Hailey Perry, Samantha Zak & Mickayla Wiley, Samantha Jones and Jed Allen. Anyone wishing to contribute to their trip should send checks to Buckfield High School c/o The History Club, Morrill Street, Buckfield, 04220.

The Buckfield Baseball and Softball teams both finished a strong regular season and earned playoff berths. Their post season begins this weekend.
The baseball team traveled to Rangeley to square off against the Lakers on Friday (6/12). Losing 6-5 in eight innings to the higher seeded Rangeley team, Buckfield finished their season in impressive fashion with home runs from Kyle Rines, Tony Fortier, Isaac Smith, & Alan Hedrick.
The softball team will be hosting Windham Christian on Saturday (6/13) at noon. *Please note, 12:00 noon is the correct time although the Sun Journal listed the game as a 1:00 start time.

Bucks Softball Beat Richmond 4-3 |

Brittany Wiley Struck out 7 and stranded 5 runners in Buckfield's 4-3 win over rival Richmond. Buckfield made the most of their opportunities as they plated all but 2 of their base-runners. Ally Martin, Alicia Patrie and Wiley all contributed with singles. Buckfield improves to 6-2 on the season. Next up for the Lady Bucks is Rangeley on 5/20 @ 3:30.

 This has been a productive week for Buckfield softball. They have 3 wins on the week, with a 9-0 win versus Windham Christian and 2 wins (9-4, 12-0) over Greenville.

Brittany struck out 9, walked 2, and gave up 3 hits in 7 innings. Melissa Taylor had a double and a single; Brittany Wiley had 2 singles; Alicia Patrie had a triple; Ally Martin had a single and a double; Sami Jones had a single; Danielle Patrie had a single, Michelle Ledger had a triple and Abby Bragg had a double.

Brittany Wiley struck out 11, walked 2 and gave up 2 hits in 7 innings. Brittany had a 2 singles; Alicia Patrie had a single; Ally Martin had 3 singles; Sami Jones had a double and 2 singles; Danielle Patrie had 2 singles and Katie Corson had a single.
Buckfield 12 Greenville 0 (Game 2, 5 innings)
Brittany Wiley struck out 4, 0 walks and gave up no hits in the first 2 innings of the game. Danielle Patrie came in to pitch the third inning and struck out 2, walked 1 and gave up 1 hit in 3 innings. Melissa Taylor had 3 singles and a double; Brittany Wiley had one single; Alicia Patrie had a double; Ally Martin had 1 single and 1 double; and LeAnn Abbott had a single and a homerun.
